Laura,

Thanks for the info. Still tackling the web to see what others are experiencing as they change theirs over. Very interested in feedback. Especially with all of the recent Timeline changes.

Regarding Welcome Tabs...

Pages without a Welcome Tab see visitor to fan conversions of 23%.
Pages WITH Welcome Tabs see visitor to fan conversions of about 47%.

So this *doubles* the conversions for businesses!

I'd say they're worth it.

Thanks Keri! So glad I got a chance to meet Dan. You should consider going to the next NAMS in Feb. Letters from Keri would work but you have such a good name already.

Hi Dustin,
You can do a lot of dynamic stuff with DW these days. There is a lot of functionality built right in and there are many add-ons that do some amazing stuff. I have several sites connected to a database, either for online catalog, user input, or content management system. You should check it out again. DW has come a long way since 2002!

Thanks so much for the comment. As you can see, I don't get a lot of them so when someone finds me, it's pretty cool!

I used to use Dreamweaver and it is an excellent platform for designing web sites from the ground up. I have limited experience with WordPress for two major reasons: (1) WP is mainly used for blogging; (2) I don't blog.

I started my migration away from DW in 2002, and over the following three years, I was able to ween myself away from it almost completely. Now I rarely use DW at all -- perhaps only a dozen or so times in a year.

The reason for my switch from DW is the fact that few people want a static web site. Business owners want to store data in a database so it can be easily used in the pages of a web site. An online database is essential for web development in 2010 and beyond.
